Making stained glass artwork

An initial idea can be turned into a
line drawing, which is used as a pattern.
To make a dress a pattern is used 
example . A full size pattern is also used to make a stained glass object as it shows the size and the shape of each piece of glass (or other material).

Stained glass patterns are essentially line drawings

This is a pattern drawn by an artist and alongside is
the completed stained glass window
























The black lines have a unifying effect, enhance the colours and, as shown below, prevent colours clashing. Notice in the image on the right that the colours appear significantly brighter, more vibrant and pure.
