Architectural Art usually refers to illustrations used to market real estate including renderings, floor
plans and site plans in a variety of styles and media including pen & ink, watercolor, acrylic & digital.

Illustrations are the final result of the design process, quite often requiring the collaboration of the
architect/designer and illustrator from the conceptual stage, through refinement, finally achieving an
image, which brings to life the evolved vision.

Architectural Art is an area that often raises the issue of
digital rendering vs hand/manual
rendering
. While some projects benefit from digital photoreal renderings to articulate actual colours
and textures, hand renderings are usually softer and leave the specifics of the actual exteriors a bit
more vague and open to more interpretation. The softer lines of a hand rendering also tend to
appeal more to a broader audience who may conceive of the project more as a concept rather than a
hard reality.
