In these two drawings you can see the differences
between a
perspective drawing above and an
isometric drawing left.

In a perspective drawing, you can alter where the
Eye Level/Horizon Line is for views from different
angles. However, because the 'depth' lines
converge to the relevant vanishing point  
see
illustration below
, the view of the back is not as
clear as the view of the front as objects become
smaller
.

In an isometric drawing, you are always looking
down from the same angle, and because the
'depth' lines are parallel (always 30 degrees) the
view of the back is as clear as the view of the front.
