ACTIVITY

The idea for this activity comes from the
Nova Scotia College of Art and Design
(NSCAD) in Canada

For this hand rendered activity,
students are asked to

- identify a group of related objects
 
(keys, tools, flowers, etc.)

- reduce the 3-dimensional forms to
2-dimensional interpretations by
simplifying their shape see below

EXAMPLE - left
These objects are related because they are
all
yellow     




SIMPLIFYING AN OBJECT'S SHAPE  
The basic shapes of the bulldozer
below on the left (also yellow) are
identified, and drawn to produce the
simple 2-dimensional images seen
below
