The 3rd Australian Poster Annual
An event during the 2007 Melbourne Design Festival
The Australian Poster Annual revived the centuries old
tradition of poster art, offering designers a creative space for
display. In 2007, the National Design Centre invited
designers from across Australia to respond to the theme
When It Rains, It Pours for the third Australian Poster Annual.
The posters ranged from the highly political to humorous,
controversial to celebratory, reminding us of how diverse our
individual interpretations can be and how diverse we are as
When It Rains, It Pours
that is, something hasn't happened for a long time, and
then it happens all at once
When there is a lot of rain all at once we say that it is
pouring. Some people say, It never rains, but it pours;
the meaning is the same as When it rains, it pours.
Example: "Sometimes we have no customers for two or
three hours, then suddenly we get 20 people all at once."
Reply: "It never rains, but it pours."
