QUESTION 4

Last year, 2010, QUESTION 4 had 2 parts
- complete a THIRD-ANGLE ORTHOGONAL DRAWING
- produce an ISOMETRIC DRAWING

In ORTHOGONAL DRAWING (
TWO-DIMENSIONAL) and
PICTORIAL DRAWING (
THREE-DIMENSIONAL)
includes ISOMETRIC DRAWING
THIS IS WHAT MAY BE EXAMINED

ORTHOGONAL DRAWING     TWO-DIMENSIONAL
- correct labelling, representations of circles, dimensioning and
 cross-sectioning to Australian Standards conventions

- scale drawing

- conversion from two-dimensional orthogonal views into
 three-dimensional drawing systems

In the Study Design (page 41), under the heading '
Drawing methods', the
drawing systems of
orthogonal, paraline and perspective are explained.

ORTHOGONAL is explained as:
TWO-DIMENSIONAL
Three-dimensional objects are drawn in separate but aligned two-dimensional
views: a top view, and front and side views which may include sectional views
(The Australian Standards Association publication, Technical Drawing for Students, SAA/SNZ
HBI: 1994, Standards Australia, Homebush NSW, provides explanations of rules and
conventions.)
PICTORIAL DRAWING   THREE-DIMENSIONAL

- PARALINE
   OBLIQUE

  ISOMETRIC

  PLANOMETRIC

-
PERSPECTIVE
   ONE-POINT
   TWO-POINT

May include:
- scale drawing

- conversion from three-dimensional into
 two-dimensional (ORTHOGONAL)
