| So far, the (very) best information I have found is a 23 page PDF Document - "DEVELOPING YOUR CREATIVITY USING A SKETCHBOOK" Dr. Malcolm Welch, Faculty of Education, Queens University, Kingston, Canada and Dr. David Barlex, Brunel University, Twickenham, England, received a Fellowship to investigate the use of portfolios in design and technology education. As part of this work they interviewed professional designers. They ALL kept sketchbooks. They thought that if it was this useful for professional designers then it would be good for students too, but when they interviewed design and technology teachers and teacher trainers they didn’t mention sketchbooks – not even once! So they produced a guide to developing a personal sketchbook for both teachers and students. The aims of this short guide are twofold 1. to enable teachers to develop a sketchbook to enhance their own creativity 2. to enable teachers to introduce sketchbooks to their students so that they too can benefit from keeping their own sketchbook CLICK HERE UPDATED DECEMBER 2011 PDF DOCUMENT What is a VISUAL DIARY?
