VELS
Victorian Essential Learning Standards
Information has just been added to the
website which provides an introduction
to VELS as it applies to Visual
Communication in Victorian schools (to
the end of Year 10).

Last month's POSTCARD activities have
been used to help explain the new
Standards.

Activites added to the website in 2007
will show their relevance to VELS
Standards in the Arts

Feedback very welcome

NEW ZEALAND TEACHERS
The above information is of interest to
teachers in Victorian schools where
Visual Communication is a discipline in
the Arts. In New Zealand, as you know,
students' knowledge and skills in
drawing and graphics should be
developed as an integral part of their
technology education, which is a
mandatory part of the school curriculum
to the end of year 10.
Early next year there will be pages
added to the website showing how
activities on this website are relevant
to the
General Objectives and Level
Descriptors
Your comments will be greatly
appreciated
