Always start by drawing the block into which the object will fit. This will help you ensure the correct proportions of the drawing right from the start.

Never start by drawing one part in detail and adding the next part and then the next part and so on. If you do, you will probably finish up with a drawing where the proportions are not correct.

For this drawing, I started by drawing the block for the body of the toy car only. I did NOT include the wheels - they were added later.
